Value Proposition of Art Auction App

Art Auction App for phone and computer use provides connection of remote accessible and virtual participation for newbies and veteran art auctioneers, alike, in each participant category: Artists, Investors, Advertisers, promoters. Value: virtual participation, process understanding (education) per participant type, upfront monetary and time value assessments, real-time virtual and in-person participation, ability to screen and choose with directory of interested artist's work(s) and participating revenues

The problem:

The ability of varied participants to virtually participate (desktop or mobile) in art auctions hosted by participating coffee shops.

My role:

Lead UX designer, UX researcher.

Responsibilities:

User research, wireframing, prototyping, etc.

Understanding the user:

  1. Understand who uses art auction and why?
  2. Research how art auctions work.
  3. Understand different types of users (artist, buyer, promoter, facilitator, finance, etc.)
  4. Understand emotions for wanting to sell/buy art.
  5. Ability to see or interact with the art work(s). Accessibility issues. May be a work around for people with physical disability or difficulty getting to the actual auction.
  6. Real-time feedback during the auction process.

Define the target audience:

  • Artists (all art genres, ethnic groups, and physical challenges)
  • Investors
  • Advertisers and promoters
  • Newbies to the art auction scene.
  • Ages 18-62
  • Lives in metropolitan or suburban areas
  • People who participate in art auctions.
  • People who are interested in participating in art auctions (newbies).
  • Include participants of different genders
  • Include participants with disabilities
